AFTER SCHOOL ART CLASS
Hi, my name is Jason and I’m 31 year old artist born and raised in the western Montana area. I’m trying to pull together an after school art class for children ages 6 to 13. The classes will be an hour long and there will be two time slots available. 4pm to 5pm and 5:30pm to 6:30pm. Classes will be Monday - Friday (possibly a Saturday and /or Sunday class). I will be doing all types of art, everything from basic pencil drawing, water paints, and acrylics to clay sculptures, and more. All projects will be able to be taken home by students. We will have an art show at the end of each class open to the public, and of course, there will be awards for all students with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes. My teachers aid is a 23 year old U of M student that is also a certified nanny with the state of Montana, so if for any reason your child needs to come 30 minutes early, or stay 30 minutes past class there will be on site child care at no cost. There is only going to be 10 to 15 seats available for each class, and they will fill quick. I’m also trying to make this as affordable as possible, so the price isn’t set yet, but can guarantee it won’t be over $125 per student. There will be discounts for more multiple students from the same family. I’m trying to set it up where I have one flat rate class, and one class will be on a sliding scale for low income families. I’m looking for any other ideas, suggestions or thoughts from parents and future students to make this class as fun and enjoyable as possible for all.
